A DOLL HOUSE

Palais de Tokyo, 2018

As part of the exhibition « Encore un jour banane pour le poisson rêve », presented at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Japanese artist Amabouz Taturo, also known as Tatzu Nishi, contacted atelier AtoY to design the outdoor installation of the exhibition. Wishing to build a 1:1 scale dollhouse in front of the museum’s facade, the atelier proceeded the design and the ploduction of the plans for this unique project.

The dollhouse has three levels and is placed on a scaffolding structure. Its frame, mixing wood and steel, allows it to appear fine and elegant . Its bright colors and childlike decorations remind us of the universe of toys that have marked our childhoods.

Showcase of the exhibition, installed on the street, the doll’s house invites passengers to discover the rest of the exhibition in the museum, through this unusual yet extraordinary installation.
